FUT tax (FIFA Ultimate Team tax)

[ɛf-juː-tiː tæks (Fifa ˈʌltɪmɪt tiːm tæks)]

Term

Summary:

FUT tax (FIFA Ultimate Team tax) is a tax on the sale of players on the Transfer Market. It is currently 5% of the total coins you sell the player for.

More detail:

FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) is an online game mode included in the video game FIFA. FIFA is released every year and FIFA 23 was produced by Electronic Arts. It is a game based around Football.

In FUT, you earn coins and can use these to purchase players that other users are selling on the Transfer Market. EA charges a 5% Tax to the seller of a player in order to stop too many coins being in circulation.

If this tax did not exist, players' prices would inflate too high as people collect more coins while playing the game.
