HCPC is a UK regulatory body that overlooks many different health and care professions. Many workers are legally obliged to register with them

More detail:

HCPC stands for Health and Care Professional Council and is a UK regulatory body that is responsible for maintaining the standards of various health and care professions. It achieves this through setting education and training requirements and creating standards of conduct and ethics.

All workers in professions such as social work, being a paramedic etc must legally register with the HCPC. There is a renewal fee that can be paid upfront or via Direct Debit.

UK taxpayers can claim tax back on their HCPC renewal fees either via a Self Assessment or a P87 Claim Form.
